SENTENCED TO DEATH
Unlike the swords&sorcery fantasy based focus of most of Brain&BrawnRPG worlds, Sentenced to Death Campaign Setting is a post-modern cyberpunk game set in a version of our world after a foreign invading army has seized control of your nation and imposed their extremist laws and customs.
It begins in the interim after your incarceration prior to rehabilitation under the oppressive new regime.
The concept is that characters must eventually somehow escape by becoming involved with the underground resistance movement.
In the original concept the game-world maps are your home town plus new constructs constructed by your forced labor for the Overlords in their severe austere architecture.
Developing the game world has made it necessary to impose a basic blueprint of the Overlords designs onto a standardised, readily identifiable generic ‘urban town’ map the likes of which can be found in almost any nation.
Use of Magic has been banned by the Overlords. Those who know how to use it are rounded up and either put to death, facially tattooed or forceably put to work for the Overlords Interim Ministry of Enforcement.
Most surviving citizens have been relocated to inner-city concentration camps with permits to leave only for work duty at construction sites, manufactories, food production warehouses and for re-education by the IME.
Even this is better than that first terrible week of the genocidal Occupation. Replaying scenes of that as memory flashbacks haunt every night of the protagonists new lives.
This is a mature game exploring living under a homicidal regime where daily survival is a struggle against seemingly impossible odds.
